How do I store my Homemade Lavender and Orange Bath Salts?
Making your own bath salts at home is a great way to create custom combinations of essential oils, colors, and textures. But in order to ensure that the bath salts maintain their texture and potency, they must be stored properly.
The best way to keep homemade bath salts fresh is to store them airtight containers in cool and dry places—ideally free from direct sunlight. If possible, use glass or stainless steel jars to prevent containers from deteriorating over time.
Additionally, it’s important that air does not get into the containers, as exposure to air can reduce the shelf life of bath salts, cause color fading, and even contaminate them with germs or bacteria. To avoid air exposure altogether, store airtight capsules of essential baths salts separately from the undiluted oils or additives used for making them.
By taking these precautions you can help ensure your DIY bath salts stay fresh and fragrant for months on end!
